Sons Of Anarchy Creator Reveals Plans For Sequel Series About Jax's Son
This sounds epic
Kurt Sutter - the creator of cult hit, Sons of Anarchy, has revealed that he’s planning make a sequel to the show which follows Jax's son, Abel.
Outlining a few of his ideas - along with his working title, Sam Crow, it seems like Sutter is making the most of the lockdown - sheltering-in-place with his family - while also spending some of his time chatting with SoA with fans on social media.
Responding to a fan question about the son of lead character Jax Teller - played by Charlie Hunnam, Sutter posted a reply that has got fans’ imaginations tingling and tongues wagging far and wide…
When asked: “How, in your mind, will Abel's destiny play out?” Sutter responded: “I had this revelation between SoA and [follow-up show] Mayans, that the SoA mythology would be four shows. Sons of Anarchy, Mayans M.C., First Nine and Sam Crow.
"First Nine would be a limited series. Nine episodes. It would end before we began to tread on history we created in Sons. Sam Crow would be the fate of Wendi, Nero, Abel and Thomas."
All good so far right? There was however slight sting in the tail as Sutter couldn’t confirm whether Sam Crow would make it to our screens or not.
He said: "I can't discuss my current situation with Fox, so right now I can't comment on the reality of any of this happening.”
After Sons of Anarchy concluded its seven-season run back in 2014, Sutter was actually fired from its sequel series, Mayans, M.C., back in October, which he was co-running with Elgin James.
And while he has spoken about Sam Crow in the past, he also recently gave an update on First Nine - but only to say ‘the prospects are not looking great’. Damn.
But even without the 100% confirmation they were after, it seems like fans were still pretty excited at the prospect of a continuation of the Sons saga.
One person replied: "I always figured Abel getting the SoA ring from Gemma left the door open for a spin-off down the road. I'd watch it!"
Another wrote: "Please. Make this happen. Oh please. Like I want to know if Abel followed in his dad's footsteps or what.”
But it didn’t end with mere enthusiasm - some people even began coming up with potential plot lines for the sequel!
One person tweeted: “The ring Gemma gave Abel will drag him back to the Mayhem I think, that and the trauma he's already witnessed combine to create a psychopath, Thomas, having been too young to remember will live a life away from the Mayhem and will have a very fractious relationship with his bro."
Someone else posted: "Abel becomes a cop or a lawyer. Something on the other side of things!! Life happens and he gets in touch with his... genes! A strong female presence is a must!”
All sounds good to us! Crowdfunder anyone?
